I went there with my friend for 2 nights. I stayed in 6 people dorm in the first floor. It was easy to find the guesthouse, and situated in the good position (near the city hall and other historical place). However, some weird smell was in the the room. I think nobody ventilate a room. Also, there is no place to talk with my friend. Because the the dinning room was so small. Above all, the price was so cheap. If you want to find the place just for a sleep, it is perfect place. 더 보기

직원 근무시간이 아침 8시부터 저녁 10시로 되어 있는데요, 저흰 12시경 시내관관을 늦게까지 한 후 입실을 할거라 미리 입실을 늦게 할거라 얘기해 놓았구 자정 12시 좀 못되어 입실하였습니다. 조식제공이라 되어 있어 식사가 준비되어 있는 것이라 생각했으나, 조식재료 제공이었답니다^^; 계란토스트요, 뚝배기밥도 어렵지 않게 해 먹을 수있는데요, 뚝배기 밥 아침메뉴도 고려해 봐 주셨으면 조심히 간절히 바래봅니다, 외국인 문화체험에도 좋고, 몸에도 좋구요, 반찬은 냉장고에 김치 콩자반 김 등, 무리없이 먹을 수있는 밑반찬이 좋지 않을까요, 퇴실전 이쁜 옥상을 구경해보고 싶어 옥상을 문을 열려 했으나 열지 못했구요, 직원분을 만나고 싶었어도 어떻게 불러야 하는 지도 몰라 많이 안타까왔습니다. 203호에 머물렀는데요, 카펫트에 담배자국인지 탄듯한 자국이 있어, 옥의 티였습니다. 처음으로 국내 손님집^ 을 이용해봤는데요, 이색적으로 좋은 경험이었습니다. 더 보기

I love this guesthouse so much. It's so clean and equipped with basic facilities. Feels like my own house. Never thought that that we will have tv, side table, rack and even a hairdryer in our room since the picture was only showing the bed (which acceptable enough considering how much I pay). I'm also particular on the cleanliness of toilet and it didn't disappoint me either. The house owner was trying his best to accommodate us. We requested for a small pail to soak my sister's swollen feet and he did find one for us. On the location wise, it might takes about 10-15 minutes walking from the Exit 1 of Gwanghwamun Station (mybe bcs we walked slowly and too immersed with the surroundings. haha) but we find it good enough. And if you love walking like us, you can just walk to Gyeongbokgung palace, central monuments and Insadong street. Thank you Goong Guesthouse for the hospitality and I'm surely will come back. I originally booked three nights here, but I booked an extra night because I really enjoyed my stay here. As some other reviewers have pointed out it is not so near to the station, but it is not that far either, less than a 10 minute brisk walk. It's only a few minutes from Gwangwhamun and Gyenongbukgong areas, and the palace, and also walking distance of about 15 minutes to Jongno-3 ga, so it's not difficult to reach many commercial districts by foot or by metro. One of the main reasons I booked this guesthouse because a few reviewers stated that it is a peaceful and calm place to stay and I couldn't agree more. The guesthouse is located on a somewhat residential street, but on a very quiet one and considering that many guesthouses in Seoul are either located on noisy and busy streets or are surrounded by unnecessary external noise, this street was such a wonderful welcome. As for the staff, the only one I encountered was Bruce, the Malaysian guy who was friendly, helpful and easygoing. He even came to pick me up at the station because I was a bit confused about the directions to the guesthouse. As another guest stated here, this is not the kind of place if you're looking to meet other travelers, and I would even say that this guesthouse is not for the inexperienced traveler or backpacker who wants a communal and social guesthouse to chat and share stories with fellow travelers, even a bit. However, I don't think that it won't suit all solo travelers, but I do to think this guesthouse will appeal to travelers that are very independent and are happy if they do or don't meet others here. If you're looking to stay in a peaceful, quiet and relaxing place where you can get a good nights sleep I think you'll appreciate this guesthouse. I also liked the small rooftop terrace, which I think is a good place to rest, think, write, or draw and or just simply relax to take time out from your Seoul adventures. the hostel look nice in the picture but when u reach there i totally different. i reach there kinda late around 10pm at the subway. The map given was no so clear and i had difficult time to find the hostel. its really far from the main road and the neighborhood are really quite. lucky me i meet a couple who actually on their way back to help me located the house. when i arrived at the hostel. there no one when we ring the bell. The Korean couple had to help me called the guesthouse and someone came to open the door. they said i was 24 hour service but its really no one there. Im staying there for 2 days, and i felt like empty. there no one to communicate. breakfast said was serve but u bread and coffee at 2nd floor, juice and egg at the 3rd floor. its such a complicated. on the other hand, the house is like an traditional Korean house. Its has automatic toilet and door lock. its has a rooftop but kinda rusty. the cleanliness was okay not too bad. Im not recommended this for solo traveler who looking to make new friend. if you travel with family, they allow you to cook. hence, this will save a lots of money. 더 보기

The link of the address is wrong. I walked repeatedly several times and finally notice that the address is different from the location showed in the map. Be careful. The reception is very polite and I am lucky to have my own in a 6 girls bedroom. With simple bread and drinks as breakfast. 더 보기
