The impression I had from reviews of J Motel were that it was a standard love motel which offered a funny experience based on room decor, but that it was clean and didn't have that "seedy" feeling that some love motels have. Based on this, we were happy to pay the reasonably cheap $60 for the night.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the woman working at the hotel - she was sweet and friendly. She didn't speak much English, though this wasn't a problem for us. We were taken to our room and told it was the last room available (everywhere was booked due to the Cherry Blossom Festival). The room was smaller than we expected. The decor was hilarious - one wall was a collage of women's "boobs and butts". We had been hoping for something less tacky, but oh well. There were a few hairs in the bathroom, and about the room, though it was mostly clean. There were exposed cables in near the door, and the jacuzzi function of the bathtub didn't work, as well as the TV in the bath area not working.
When we came to sleep, the bed was comfy but the linens didn't smell very fresh. The motel is next to a noraebang (karaoke room), and the noise was really loud, even though we had the windows closed. We were also on the second floor above the garage, so there was some noise from there, too. It was pretty noisy, and we requested a room change, but there was nothing available. I think all rooms on the right side of the building would be affected by the noraebang. Luckily, we are both deep sleepers, but if you are a light sleeper or bothered by noise, I would recommend staying elsewhere.
Overall, I would say if you have another option when choosing a hotel in this area, chose that rather than the J motel. We were pretty disappointed by what we were expecting compared to what we got. In the future I will look elsewhere, though if nothing is available, J motel is a decent-ish cheap-ish option that will do if you really need somewhere to stay. 더 보기

Standard love motel, bed comfortable enough. Great modern bathroom. Woman on reception desk was very friendly and helpful. Showed us a few rooms and let us choose which one we wanted. Close to buses and town centre. Would stay there again. 더 보기
Not recommended. Tried to book a deluxe double and was placed in a regular room. Tried to confirm with front desk if it was my room, and they said that it was. Given how non-child-friendly it was, we were thinking about changing hotels or at least rooms or reporting the establishment to agoda, so tried to approach front desk about changing rooms, and they said that a nicer room opened up and we were free to take it as if they were doing me a favor, even though we were supposed to be in a nicer room to begin with. The nicer rooms are almost identical to the cheap rooms. There are many small inns and hotels in Gyeongju that don't use agoda - recommend looking them up instead of being stuck in a place like this. 더 보기

The reception is only a small window where they just give you the keys and on checking out you just drop the keys in the elevator. However , the staff did try to explain when we ask for some information. It is near to a tourist information centre where they speak good

J-motel is a motel like most others in Korea it seems. Mostly aimed towards hourly rental. Staff were a bit reluctant to help, but was ok. Location is good if arriving by bus. Dogdy neighbourhood and hotel. although this probably isn't the worst. 더 보기

Overall, the hotel is good although it is actually a love motel.
The room is clean and cozy, with great amenities such as LCD TV, fridge, PC and so on.
Personally I like the location of motel as it is located near to main bus terminal, about 5mins walk, but the area itself is quiet.
The staff does not speak in English, but they are helpful to attend our needs.

We had a great stay here. It's a love hotel, so interaction with the staff is fairly minimal, however the woman at the desk was very friendly and took us up to our room to explain where everything was and how to work everything there (lights, AC, TV, computer etc.). The room was large and clean, and the place is located on the main touristy strip, just walking distance from plenty of restaurants and many of the city's historical attractions. 더 보기

from the areas the best place to stay , if you are looking for food take the bus to fashion street , lots of food and clothing store around the areas. 더 보기

although the motel is one of the many love motels in gyeongju, it is one of the best hotels that i've stayed during the trip to south korea. the rooms are hugh and fully equipped with large led tvs and coffee making facilities. there is also a water cooler outside the room where you can top up your own drinking water.
the owners of the motel are friendly and makes you feel welcome.
on the con side, it is not close to the ktx train station nor the gyeongju station station. taxi to gyeongju train station takes roughly 10 minutes.
it takes 15 min to walk to gyeongju's main shopping area and nearby tourist attractions 더 보기

this place is within 5 mins walk to the express bus terminal. was a good point of reference for taking public transport as there are many buses around here and most bus drivers can understand where is this place. quite a no. of buses for singyeongju ktx station as well. room is clean, spacious and well equipped. there was 2 pc in my room for use. no wifi though. there is a water dispenser and microwave on every floor. although it is a love motel, we felt perfectly safe and fine. not a dodgy place. room has interesting deco. there are food places around as well minimart. tourist information centre right beside the express bus terminal. 더 보기
